SMÅ
Sustainable European Baby Clothing
Founded in 2014, SMÅ is Karin's brainchild. She combines her swedish origins with her Parisian lifestyle to create an adorable line of clothing and bedding for babies and toddlers. After a decade in Asia's textile industry, witnessing overproduction, poor quality, and unethical practices, Karin was inspired to create something meaningful. Thus, SMÅ was born to champion children's well-being, the environment, and slow living, while embracing sustainability, European craftsmanship, and local artisans' talents.
Our collections fuse Scandinavian inspiration with French refinement, designed in our Paris studio. Season after season, Karin's passion for fabrics and artisans' savoir-faire infuse charm into every piece. Produced in Europe, our products are crafted by hand or in small-scale production, using environmentally friendly materials whenever possible.
Our Mission and Values
At SMÅ, our mission is to offer a sustainable and human alternative to fast fashion. We believe that sustainable baby clothing is not just a trend; it is an essential movement towards preserving our planet for future generations. Our core values reflect this commitment:
- Protecting the Environment: We have chosen to use natural materials sourced from farms and landscapes around us. By utilizing eco-friendly materials and production processes, we aim to significantly reduce pollution and conserve natural resources.
- Ensuring Health and Safety: Babies deserve the best, and their delicate skin requires gentle care. Our clothing is crafted from organic and natural materials, free from harmful substances, ensuring comfort and peace of mind for parents.
- Supporting Ethical Practices: Producing within Europe allows us to ensure our materials are made under morally and ethically approved circumstances. We ensure fair profits for farmers and acceptable living conditions for their cattle. Our craftsmen and seamstresses work in good conditions to produce the fine products we offer to our customers and their beloved ones.
Milestones
Since 2020, all our knitted accessories are made from 100% natural materials, with yarn produced in France. The wool comes from sheep in La Creuse, France, and each piece is lovingly hand-knitted by our team of talented grannies in Sweden and France.
Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, we aspire to expand our B2B business to the USA and Canada, bringing our sustainable gems to a wider audience. Our vision is to continue growing while staying true to our values, offering even more sustainable options for conscious consumers.
